Heavy Rain is a 2010 interactive drama action-adventure video game developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game features four protagonists involved with the mystery of the Origami Killer, a serial murderer who uses extended periods of rainfall to drown his victims. The player interacts with the game by performing actions highlighted on screen related to motions on the controller, and in some cases, performing a series of quick time events. The player's decisions and actions during the game affect the narrative.

Throughout the game, the player experiences two separate flashbacks that reveal the true nature of the Origami Killer. The first occurs 34 years earlier, with twin brothers playing on a construction site. One of the two, John Sheppard, falls into a broken pipe and gets his leg trapped, just as a rainstorm causes the pipe to begin filling with water. The second occurs shortly after, with John's brother running home to warn their father, only to find him too drunk to help. Scared and confused, the boy could only watch helplessly as his brother drowned. Thus, the Origami Killer was born: a killer who searches for a father willing to sacrifice himself. He kills his victims the same way his brother died. The boy is revealed to be Scott, who was adopted soon after his brother's death. His actions as an investigator are not meant to get justice for his victims; instead, he needs to collect the evidence of his crimes, which he burns in his office wastebasket.[8]

As you can see, the system requirements are fairly mediocre and not too draining as it will be playing in the GTX 600 series. Considering the game was launched almost a decade ago, it's not particularly attractive with regards to graphical details - though that doesn't matter.

Integrated graphics are not so great at handling demanding PC games, though. While these integrated Intel graphics processors will let you play some recent games at low quality and resolution settings (how well varies significantly by the game), you will definitely need a discrete graphics card from AMD or Nvidia to play 3D games at 1080p, 1440p, or 4K resolutions with the quality settings turned up. Nor are integrated solutions the best choice for tasks that demand GPU acceleration in addition to CPU muscle, such as certain specialized, heavy rendering and scientific applications.

Graphics settings may get all the glory, but big open-world games like Cyberpunk 2077 hammer a lot more than your GPU. Your storage and processor carry a heavy load too. A couple of options tucked into the Gameplay menu (oddly enough) can give them a hand.

Gaming PCs contain a higher end & more powerful graphics card as compared to traditional PCs. gaming laptops are also becoming more available as gaming grows increasingly more mobile. A large difference between a gaming laptop and a normal laptop is the cooling components. Gaming puts a heavy strain on both the GPU (graphics processing unit) and CPU (central processing unit) which generates more heat and therefore needs a more sophisticated cooling system.

There are few things more enjoyable in a work of fiction than a good mystery. Those impossible crimes that make the gears in your brain churn. Inexplicable murders, mysterious disappearances, and perplexing riddles. And while reading or watching such stories in novels, TV shows, or movies is a lot of fun, games let you go one step further and take part in the investigation yourself, experiencing the satisfaction of cracking a case first-hand. The following games are the best examples of virtual sleuthing that you can play on PC today.

Blade RunnerWestwood Studios / 1997A rookie blade runner hunts for rogue replicants on the rain-soaked streets of a future Los Angeles. The story mirrors the film a little too closely, but McCoy does a lot more detecting than Deckard. Much of the game is spent scouring the city for clues and interrogating suspects, and the atmosphere is absolutely incredible, perfectly capturing the dark, melancholy mood of the movie.

Gemini RueJoshua Nuernberger / 2011This cyberpunk adventure is set in the far future, taking place on a distant planet in the Gemini system. In a rainy Blade Runner-inspired urban setting, it follows cop Azriel Odin as he searches for his missing brother. And eventually his story becomes entwined with another, very different playable character. This is another entry that isn't strictly a detective game, but has the feel of one.

The Darkside DetectiveSpooky Doorway / 2017This reference-heavy adventure game is pretty traditional when it comes to point-and-click puzzle design, but the funny writing and great characters make it. You play as Francis McQueen, and along with sidekick and foil Dooley, you solve cases with a hidden supernatural element, like a goofier X-Files. FTL composer Ben Prunty also provides an excellent, atmospheric soundtrack.
